Where did I get the plant from:
I did notice this plant a few years back, growing in a garden near by. I first thought it was a Yucca recurvifolia, but when I got a closer look in the summer of 2008, when it was about to bloom, I could see that it was NOT what I first thought.

Short description:
Plant caulescent with a short trunk, one or several very large rosettes, forming new rosettes from short rhizomes, and inside the old bloomed rosette . Leaves: glaucous, bluish green, up to 100 cm long, up to as wide as 7 cm around the middle. The underside of the leaves rather roughened in the 1/3 of the leaf. The spine in the end of the leaves VERY sharp. Inflorescence: glabrous paniculate, many thick (4-5 mm) short branches up to 15 to 25 cm long, held in an upright angle at about 30 degrees, 15 to 20 flowers on each branch. Scape: 70 to 85 cm starting in between the leaves, in 30-40 cm hight from the rosette. Flowers: campanulate (bell shaped) usually arranged in pairs. Fruit apple-green, has a smooth surface, 18-21 mm thick and 55-75 mm long, pointing upwards or rarely sideways. Seeds: black, 4-5 mm wide, 1-3 mm thick, No wings..

Where do I grow the plant:
In the garden on Hæstrupvej, it is growing either in a large pot, or planted into the garden in normal garden soil, which in this place is rather heavy in clay.

Hardiness:
I believe it to be very hardy, in the garden on Hæstrupvej it has been grown for 7 years, and in a garden in the city of Hjørring, it has been grown for more than 10 years.

Notes:
This plant were brought to Denmark, by a tourist bus driver, many years ago, and it could be one of Carl Sprenger's many hybrids?

It will be very interesting to see the outcome of the new hybrids, and hopefully some of them will grow trunks too, but I do not expect flowers in the new hybrid until 2015 at the earliest!
