Where did I get the plant from:
I have received the plant in 2000 from the late P. C. O. Nørgaard, Sundby Mors, Denmark (1917-2003), whom got it from, from Zagreb Botanical in Yugoslavia (now "Socialist Republic of Croatia"), Garden. P.C.O. Nørgaard did grow the plant under the name Yucca karlsruhensis type 2! A friend of mine have asked the Curators of Zagreb Botanical garden if they had any registration of a Yucca xkarlsruhensis in their files. Their files only goes back to 1950 and forward, and in those years there has not been registered any Yucca xkarlsruhensis. But much can have happened during the time 1899 and 1950. What I suppose did happen is that the plantsman P.C.O. Nørgaard, Erslev, Mors, Denmark (1917-2003) got a plant from Zagreb some time in the early 50's, I would guess, maybe via a breeder he did know in Halle, Eastern Germany. But this is all speculations, and in P.C.O Nørgaards files, which I inherited in 2003, I have not found any written information about any of his Yucca plants.

Short description:
Plant acaulescent with one or several rosettes, forming new rosettes from short rhizomes. Leaves: dark green with a bluish bloom, up to 45 cm long, 14 to 18 mm wide around the middle, many fibers at the margin of the leaves. Inflorescence: pubescent, paniculate, 100 cm high, with a few short branches up to 10 to 13 cm long, the branches are held in an upright angle. Scape:  up to 45 cm cm held above the leaves.
Flowers: campanulate (bell shaped). Fruit the young fruit is purple and very pubescent, 25 mm thick and 40 mm long. Seeds: not known at the time of writing. Flowering time: (in Denmark) late July to mid August.

It looks very much like a dwarfed form of a narrow leafed Yucca flaccida and is has much shorter rhizomes and much fewer rhizomes also.

Where do I grow the plant:
In a raised well drained bed.

Hardiness:
It is very hardy, it does not show any damage after the winters. It has been in cultivation in northern Europe for decades, I do not know for how many years it has been grown in Denmark, but probably since the 1950's..

Notes:
This Yucca form need a new and valid name, as it's clearly not identical with the true Yucca xkarlsruhensis a hybrid made by Graebener in 1899, Yucca flaccida x Yucca glauca.
