Variegated ornamental plants are very popular, this is also true when it comes to Yucca plants, but the number of plants available is very limited.

Yucca rostrata "marginata-variegata" (only one plant is known, it is own by Sascha Weissbeck, Germany), a very beautiful plant.

New variegated Yuccas made in tissue culture.
The number of available variegated Yucca forms will change over the years as I have started a joint venture with Robert Wellens from the Dutch tissue culture laboratory: Succulent Tissue Culture (STC). Robert Wellens has found a way to introduce variegation to plants, so he has received a donation of my Yucca hybrid seeds, to do experiments with. The first stage cleaning the seeds for bacteria, fungus etc. and sow the seeds in vitro has been a success 100 % germination in all but one seed batch.

The seeds were sown in April 2004, and introduced to variegation on May 26. 2004.

The plants that didn't get variegated the first time, were treated with the chemical one more, for another try, this time for white variegation!
