This is the list of the Yuccas I grow or which I have sown (not all has germinated yet!).

The list is last updated in August 2004, I may have received more since and a few may have died.

Growing conditions in our garden:
G  =  Pots in unheated greenhouse, in open frame in the summer.
F    =  Pots in frame, Protected from rain , October to May.

B1. =  Cactus bed No. 1, Protected from rain October to May.
B2. =  Cactus bed No. 2, No protection in winter.
                                     Some of the plants are protected with a sheet of glass.

Strongest and highest form. Not hardy in Middle Europe. Naturalized on Sicily, Italy. This Yucca is used by Sprenger for his hybrid Yucca XHeliodorus (Yucca aloifolia gigantea X Yucca recurvifolia)

Almost stem less form, stem only 30m high, leaves red colored. Inflorescence 50-80 cm high. Flowers dark purple-red. Not very easy to multiply and very rare. Not hardy.

Stiff narrow-leaved form with shining green leaves. Sharp leaf-edges, brown colored. Shorter stems, in Germany about 1 meter high. Perhaps the hardiest form of Yucca aloifolia. Survived very cold winters in Hebertsfelden, Germany.

Probably referable to Yucca angustissima ssp. avia, but larger with broader leaves than typical ssp. avia. Also some had a few branches on the otherwise racemose inflorescence like ssp. kanabensis. Looks intermediate between ssp. avia and ssp. kanabensis. Pine forest and is native to colder areas than
most other Yucca species in Utah!

Cochabamba. Leaves about 20-40 cm long, narrow and stinging. Inflorescences 50-80 cm long, flowers greenish. Can flower after 3 years.
